![]() The B1601 “Unprogrammed PATS Key in Ignition” code comes back every start it seems like but the car always starts, light doesn't flash etc… no indications of PATS doing anything abnormal aside from setting this code. I don't see any output changes in the data when the problem happens. Tried unplugging the alternator just to check for RFI with no change. Fuel pressure is good, communication is constant, as is keyed power and cam/crank signal up to the PCM. When the stumble or stalling occurs it's a loss of injector pulse and coil signal, always together. When it stalls the best I can describe there is a gasping noise from the intake, I'm guessing from the IAC trying to get idle speed back up. Once it's good and warm, if you shut it down and restart it, the engine will stumble or shut off completely after 5 seconds or so, only when warm. It will start/run from cold perfectly, for hours on end. Have this little Focus in for a stalling issue. ![]()
